The want is shared. I always liked that generation of Crown, its a shame how rare they are. A good sized, luxurious wagon with a straight six, what’s not to like?

Yeah, Japanese cars were still known as small, economical, relatively cheap cars at the time - the Crown was probably just a step higher than people were willing to accept for something with the Toyota badge.
Note that, not counting Lexus, it took them 20 years to get back into the segment.
